Circle of Security - Parenting (COSP) is a relationship-based program grounded in attachment theory. It helps parents and caregivers understand children’s emotional needs, attachment styles, and cues; and how to respond in ways that build trust, resilience, and secure relationships. The program combines visuals, video clips, and real-life conversations to make concepts practical and relatable. It is relevant not only for young children, but also for young people and adolescents.
You’ll learn how to:
Recognise and respond to children’s emotional cues and attachment needs
Understand attachment styles and how they shape relationships
Support children and young people to manage big emotions
Build secure attachment, resilience, and self-esteem
Reflect on your own caregiving approaches and experiences
Delivery modes:
Typically delivered as 6-8 weekly sessions (90 minutes to 2 hours each)
Includes video-based modules, visuals, handouts, and guided discussions
