Our Story
Hear to Empower was founded on the belief that: understanding makes a difference.
Founded and created by a qualified social worker with extensive experience in trauma, attachment, brain development, youth mental health, and trauma-informed therapeutic practice, this service exists to bridge the gap between knowledge and meaningful action through training, education, and supportive practice.
While proudly based in South Australia, we aim to deliver accredited training, evidence-based parenting programs, and professional development workshops across Australia – equipping parents and carers, educators, youth and community service professionals, tertiary students, and community members with the knowledge and practical tools to understand and respond to children and young people’s needs. This supports their safety, wellbeing, and healthy development across everyday challenges and when additional support and guidance is needed.
We recognise that care takes many forms, and we celebrate the diversity of people who provide it – across cultures, generations, identities, and life experiences. Our work is grounded in the belief that connection enriches learning, strengthens wellbeing, and fosters environments where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.
But our work doesn’t stop with those in direct care roles. We also walk alongside the people who support others – creating reflective, inclusive, and trauma-responsive spaces that build confidence, insight, and human connection.
At Hear to Empower, our mission is to grow capacity, strengthen relationships, and help people feel more grounded, capable, and supported in the care they offer every day.
Meet Angelka
Angelka is a qualified social worker and accredited training facilitator with over 9 years’ experience across the community services sector, including child protection, Out-of-Home Care (OOHC), leadership, school wellbeing, and national assurance across Child, Youth, and Family services (SA, WA, and NSW) and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) programs. She also brings experience in auditing and quality assurance, training delivery, reflective practice, leadership, and supervision, with a strong focus on safe, child-centred practice, and improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.
Through Hear to Empower, Angelka brings together professional insight, the lived wisdom gained from years in frontline and leadership roles, alongside experience in national assurance, and a deep commitment to making a difference in all areas of her work – fostering trauma-informed, intentional, and inclusive environments that inspire learning, reflection, and meaningful change.
