Our Story
Hear to Empower was founded on the belief that understanding makes a difference.
Founded by a qualified social worker with extensive experience in attachment, brain development, youth mental health, and trauma-informed therapeutic practice, Hear to Empower exists to bridge the gap between knowledge and meaningful action through training, education, and professional development.
Proudly based in South Australia, we aim to deliver accredited training, evidence-based parenting programs, and professional development workshops across Australia. Our training and programs equip parents and carers, educators, youth workers, community service professionals, tertiary students in community services and related fields, and community members with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to understand and respond to the needs of children and young people – supporting their safety, wellbeing, and healthy development.
Our professional development workshops support practitioners, leaders, service teams, and organisations through ongoing learning and practice uplift. They strengthen knowledge, critical thinking, reflective practice, and practical skills – helping participants build stronger connections, respond more effectively to the people they support, and create meaningful change while contributing to quality service delivery and organisational goals.
Our workshops can be applied and tailored across a range of service contexts, including child, youth and family services, disability and NDIS-funded services, mental health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, and the broader community services sector.

Meet Angelka
Angelka is a qualified social worker and accredited training facilitator with over 9 years’ experience across the community services sector, including child protection, Out-of-Home Care (OOHC), leadership, school wellbeing, and multi-state assurance across Child, Youth and Family services in SA, NSW and WA. Her assurance experience also includes Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) programs in SA.
Her work has focused on supporting carers, professionals, workplaces, and service teams. She brings experience in generalist and specialist foster care recruitment and assessment, including Specific Child Only (SCO) assessments and support, alongside leadership, supervision, training delivery, professional documentation, assessment writing, critical reflection and analysis, auditing, quality assurance, practice governance, and practice improvement.
Her work is informed by trauma-informed, trauma-responsive, culturally responsive, strengths-based, person-centred, and rights-based approaches, with a strong focus on safe, child-centred practice and improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. She also brings experience in reviewing and developing policies, procedures, and practice guidance for national application, supporting clear, consistent, and safe service delivery across Australia.
Through Hear to Empower, Angelka draws on her experience across frontline practice, leadership, training, assurance, and the development of policy and practice guidance to facilitate accredited training, evidence-based parenting programs, and professional development workshops. She is passionate about creating compassionate, evidence-informed, and inclusive learning spaces that strengthen confidence, critical thinking, reflective practice, and meaningful change.
